Sheaths, PEBAX welded pipes
Core Applications: Core component of medical interventional devices
1. Vascular interventional field
2. Minimally invasive surgery field
3. Other medical applications
Material: PEBAX material, biocompatible, high-pressure resistance, bending resistance, excellent sealing properties from welding processes, precision plasticity and dimensional stability
PEBAX Sheath (Welded Tube) Functions and Applications
- Function: Establishes a stable percutaneous access route to blood vessels/body cavities, protects tissues, prevents bleeding, and facilitates the exchange of interventional instruments.
- Material Characteristics: PEBAX material is flexible, strong, and biocompatible; the welding process ensures a smooth and safe tube.
Functions of the sheath design at both ends:
- Distal end (insertion end)
- Tapered and flexible, facilitating insertion and reducing vascular injury.
- Proximal end (external end)
1. Facilitates instrument insertion
- The flared end provides a wide, guiding entrance, allowing catheters, guidewires, balloons, and other instruments to be easily and quickly inserted into the sheath, reducing alignment difficulties and operation time.
- Overall design
- Gradual stiffness: soft distal end, stiff proximal end, balancing compliance and pushing force.
